Family Support Services

Program Examples

We offer many programs for Parents & Caregivers, each intended to meet the needs of our families. The programs we offer at any given time are adjusted based on unique needs that come to us. Below are just three of the programs we offer!

Circle of Security Program (COSP)

At times all parents feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. In this 8 week program, while using the COSP™ model, our trained Facilitator work with parents and care-givers to help them to:

  • Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs

  • Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions

  • Enhance the development of their child’s self esteem

  • Honour the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure

Triple P (Positive Parenting Program)

Parenting now comes with an instruction manual!

As we all know, kids don’t come with an instruction manual: parenting means cutting through misinformation and confusion, and this often results in high levels of stress. Triple P provides clear and simple strategies to turn problems around and prevent problems from developing in the first place.Triple P is delivered by accredited staff trained to provide each parent with tools directly relevant to the specific needs of their family. From tantrums to sleeping, bullying to teenage withdrawal, whatever the need, Triple P has the information, tip sheet, self-help book, video, seminar, course or expert to help.

We currently have staff trained to facilitate a variety of TRIPLE P programs, such as Primary 1-3, Stepping stones, Triple P Teen, small group sessions, and more.

Parents as Teachers (PAT) Program

You are your child’s first and most influential teacher!

Parents are children’s’ first educators and our Parents as Teachers (PAT) program provides instruction and support to help parents learn how to teach their children as well as nurture them. Parent as Teachers is a parent education and family support program serving families throughout pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten. Parents are supported by PAT- certified parent educators trained to translate scientific information on early brain development into specific when, what, how and why advice for families. By understanding what to expect during each stage of development, parents can easily capture the teachable moments in everyday life to enhance their child’s language development, intellectual growth, social development and motor skills.
